Cheap Booking

I finally have some spare money to spend, and I'm looking to make it go a long ways. What are some good websites that have cheap airfares? I only ask because upon reading some reviews, I've heard some bad things about certain websites. Is anyone willing to share their experiences? Also, would it be cheaper to book hotels and airfares separately? Or at a site that can book them together? I'm new to this, any insight would be appreciated!

I would highly recommend both hotwire and priceline, flycheapabroad, and bookairlinetickets.com. I've searched around for airfare quite a bit, and these three sites usually ring true as the cheapest. Other than that, I'd go to sites like igougo.com, travelzoo.com, kayak.com, and bookingbuddy.com. These sites offer searches of multiple online airfare websites, making it easier and less time consuming to compare prices. As for when to buy, I usually go to farecast.com. They pretty accurately predict when a good time to buy a flight would be based off of past and current trends, etc. It's pretty useful. Another site I've found handy is rightflight.org. They did a bunch of research on the various airfare sites to see which sites are usually the cheapest. They also have a list of most of the international airfare sites on their webpage (60+), which can be pretty handy in and of itself. Hope this helped!

I'll be in Italy this summer for a few weeks and we're thinking of visiting Paris as well. Is taking a train the cheapest way of going from Milan to Paris? And if so, what are some websites where I can book cheap tickets?

If you're in Italy, the cheapest place to get tickets is the Italian train site as Zafir told you: http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/homepage_en.html . There are discounts available on the higher speed trains for early purchase of tickets - 15% for a 7 day advance purchase or 30% for a 15 day advance purchase. The best way to get from Rome, Florence, Venice or Milan to Paris in my opinion is to take the night train - that's what I do when I go for the weekend from my home near Verona. From Milan, the standard price of the night train is 102 euro (each way) for a berth in a 4 bed compartment or 97 euro in a compartment with 6 beds. However, there are several discounted levels if you book far enough in advance. The cheapest rate is the "smart price" of 45 euro in a 4 bed compartment or 35 euro in a 6 bed compartment. To find these on the website, you select the night train on the Journey selection page of the Trenitalia site. Then on the fares & preferences page just use the "select your fare pull down" to find fares are offered. The Paris trains do sell out in the summer so it's a good idea to book in advance anyway - the discounted fares go fast. There are also budget airlines available. my family and three other family's were planning on going to niagara falls. the only time we can go is duringt the labor day. Friday, september 3 to saturday, september 5. we need three room. (2 adults and 2 children in each family...total of 12 of us) we need a really good deal or we might go :(( thanks for ur help :)
